The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance does not provide any general information as to when taxpayers will receive their tax refund's irrespective of whether or not they filed a paper tax return or an electronically filed tax return. My experience shows that E-Filed returns will generate a tax refund within 4 weeks and paper filed tax returns will generate a tax refund within 6 weeks.
But, taxpayers are requested to click on the following link that will provide them with their specific "Tax Refund Status".

Taxpayers should enter their Social Security Number and the Tax Form filed and then follow the prompt which will provide them the status of their tax refund.
