Unhappy e-filing state only?? Resending Federal, problems?

Hi all, thanx for reading.

I have used turbo tax to e-file my federal return, federal ONLY, and decided to skip the state.
I decided I was going to print off the forms from my state website and fill out/mail them in myself, but after looking at the forms, im lost (can't they make this simpler?)
So begs my question, is their any way to e-file ONLY my state?
I've found (after e-filing my federal, and receiving confirmation) that H & R block offers free state e-filing for NC, but if I resend my federal return (A 2nd time, with H&R instead of TT) Will this mess anything up/create problems?

Thanx again.

-JD
