Dependent or not?

My 21 year old son was a full time college student whom I supported in 2009 until he married in August. He had a total income for 2009 of less than $500. As I fully supported him as a full time student for 7 months in 2009, am I entitled to claim him as a dependent child on my 2009 return and to also claim the education tax credit for qualified expenses even though at the end of the year he was married? If so, do he and his wife file as married filing separately or does he need to file at all?

Thanks...
