Unhappy Feds take my taxes because of my husbands student loans

Every year since my husband and I got married they government has taken our taxes because of my husbands student loans. Now i know that the amount i fet back would be less. But if we filed married filing seperately and I claim our kids would they still take my taxes or only his? Is it worth it for me to file seperately or should we just file jointly?
