2008 Divorce and affect on itemized ded.

My tax questions are related to a divorce that was final on August 11th, 2008
#1 if I'm a custodial parent and now own the home in which my son is living can I file as Head of Household?

#2 what do the tax regs say about how itemized deductions should be allocated between the two parties? Are they prorated and if itemizes is the other required to do so as well?
