According to the West Virginia State Tax Department, " Taxpayers who filed paper returns should allow 8 to 10 weeks from the date their return was filed to receive their refund. Taxpayers who filed electronically and requested that their refund be direct deposited should allow 11 working days from the acknowledgment date of the return for the refund to be direct deposited."

Taxpayers must enter the primary social security number that appears on your return and enter the amount of your refund, in dollar amounts only. Then, Taxpayers should click the "Inquire" button and a message will be returned indicating the status of your refund.
