Tax return for J2 holder

Hi,

Thanks for your time.

I am a Chinese Postdoc, I have been working in US with J2 VISA using EAD card. Taxes including Fed withholding, Fed MED/EE and State withholding have been withheld form my salary. Do I have any tax return? If yes, how can I get it?

Thanks. Much appreciated.

As a J1visa holder, your spouse is not subject to fica taxes for five years UNLESS he is treated as a US resident for tax purposes.however,
family members on "-2" visas do not qualify for the exemption. J2 holders must pay FICA taxes. J-2 visa holders must have received work permission from USCIS in order to apply for a Social Security number. J-2 visa holders DO pay Social Security Taxes You, as A J2 dependent, must file Form 8843. Even if YOU did not have any US income during 2013 or if the only incomeYOU received was bank interest.
