Which state do I file in? At the beginning of this year, I got a contacted work in IL and I am from FL. I been working at my client's place in IL for almost a year now. My driver license, car license plate, and etc is still in FL and I would call that state my home. I am not sure how long this work is going to last and it could end soon. I did however rent an apartment in IL and drove my car up here as well. I was told that the work will last almost a year, which so far it did. I been flying back to FL, my home, every single break I have off of work. Like almost once every month for a week off. I am getting a 1099 and my type of work have no base as it'll be at the client's place always.
(1)So my question is, do I file taxes in the state of IL or FL or both?
(2) Also can I write off food at the beginning when I was still in a Hotel and also now when I have an Apartment?
(3) The plane tickets that I bought flying back home?
???Or any other tax advise you can give me???
Thanks! |
