I did not work last year and was a full-time student. My parents are claiming me as a dependent and i was wondering if i even need to file in California?
No, there is no need to file a tax return as you have no income and you are being claimed by your parents. Your Parents would be able to claim the greater of the Education Tax Credit or Tuition deduction on their 2008 Tax Return.
