Due Date For Corporation Rate Return for 2008

The Due date for filing the 2008 Calender Year Corporation Tax Return is March 17th, 2008. This is because March 15th represents a weekend and the March 17th is the First Working day following the 15th March.

Please remember to file an extension by this day if you are unable to file the tax return.

For a C-Corporation
You are required to pay the full amount of the estimated tax liability along with the Extension filed.

For an S-Corporation
There usually will be no Federal Tax liability associated with the filing of the S Corporation tax return, hence an extension can be filed without a tax liability.

How do you file for an Extension to File a Corporation Tax Return?
The Automatic extension to file can be accomplished by using Form 7004,this form "provides an additional 6 Months to file both the S and the C Corporation Tax Return."
