De Minimis Fringe Benefit Question

What if you are given a coupon for $35 for a Christmas gift that is redeemable for food or cash any time between 12/1 - 1/31? Would this coupon be considered a de minimis fringe benefit? Thanks!

Yes, I think it is considered a de minimis fringe benefit and the amount in question would really not have any tax consequences as far as the IRS is considered!

Hence, in my opinion there would not be any negative tax consequences to either the employee or the employer!
