Can I claim tax refund for lost airline ticket

Last year i was traveling an international flight and missed the flight because of taxi driver's mistake. I was 20 mins late and airline did not allow be to board the plane. I tried with my travel agent and did not get any refund on that ticket. since the trip was already planned, I booked the new ticket from airport and traveled on the same day.
can i claim the first ticket as a loss and get some tax refund?

Thank you.
