Tax home and travelling expenses

Hi my main home is over two hours away from where I work.
I work in Boston doing construction all around the local 103 jurisdiction. I had bought another home closer to work but still an hour away. I'm confused about tax home and personal home. I would like to write off some of my 2nd house expenses seeing it was bought so I wouldn't have to travel so much. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
