passport and visa expenses

I write India travel guides, which necessitates being in India much of the year. Last September, my passport was stolen, so I had to get a new passport and India visa. The direct expenses weren't huge, around $250, but I had to travel to the US (not my home anymore though I am a US citizen) to get a new visa, which cost me around $3000 more. Can I deduct some reasonable portion of those expenses?

Thanks!
