Charitable Contribution?

Can I claim labor for a non-profit building project?

No, you cannot claim the labor spent for a Non-Profit Organization as a charitable deduction on Schedule A of the tax return.

But, you are entitled to claim the car expenses and other expenses that you have incurred on behalf of the Non-Profit Organization. Of course, most probably they have possibly reimbursed you for these expenses, but just in case that they have not, you are entitled to deduct the mileage at a rate of 14cents per mile as a charitable deduction on Schedule A.
