Grandparents Paying due to Absentee Parent

Hello,

I need help with a situation. I know a couple who have had to take over watching their granddaughter more often than not due to the lifestyle and choices of their daughter. In 2014 the granddaughter, age 4, lived with the grandparents for over 50% of the year and they paid her living expenses as the parent didn't hold a job and didn't care for her kid. They also paid for over $3000 in childcare expenses so they could work. However the parents claimed the child on their 2014 income tax return so they could get more money from the government on their taxes. Is there any way that the grandparents can receive any deductions for caring for the child and paying for the childcare? Thanks
