Living/working in a different state-where to file?

We were illinois residents, but my husband took a job in Ohio and has worked the entire year there. We decided not to move our family there, so I live in illinois with our kids, and he lives in Ohio and comes home on the weekends, when possible. I have no income, and all of his income was earned in Ohio. Do we still need to file an illinois return? Do we need to file as a resident or non-resident in Ohio? We own a house in illinois, and rent an apartment in Ohio.
