The threshold on medical deductions increased for 2013!

For Tax Year starting 2013, taxpayers may can only deduct medical expenses that exceed 10 percent of their adjusted gross income (up from 7.5 percent in 2012).

However, if the taxpayer is 65 or older, the threshold stays at 7.5 percent. But, Per the IRS, "beginning in 2017, everyone will be subject to the 10 percent limit."
