Will IRS accept an amended tax return that is electronically filed?

A quick question, I am trying to find out whether or not the IRS accepts electronically filed tax returns? A reply most appreciated as always.

Thank you..

Can you file an Amended Return Electronically?

Unfortunately, the IRS currently does not allow an amended return to be filed Electronically and therefore "amended tax returns must be filed using Form 1040X Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return."

This return must be mailed to your servicing center for processing. Per the IRS, "the taxpayer may submit the 1040X after the IRS processes your original return."
