Deduction Question - I've read answeres stating car washes are not deductible as a business expense if taking the mileage deduction, but what if the car is marked and keeping the car clean and professional looking is considered a advertisement expense.

Hm.. that is an interesting question. I see what you mean, so the Car is marked as a Real Estate Agent name or a Corporate Logo like the Geek Squad! Well, this is not a major expense item and I suppose the IRS would not have problem with this expense item so long as you can demonstrate that this is a reasonable expense item in connection with your business, which it clearly seems to be the case.

You might have a case of considering this expense as part of the marketing expense, so long as part of the expense included a touch up on the logo, cleaning it or repainting it and so on.
