wage garnishment and tax return

We were evicted from our home and now the landlord has a judgement against us and they have attached my husbands wages (they get 25% of our disposable income every week) What we are wanting to know is if they can/will take our tax return? I would think they would have to notify us ahead of time if they are planning on taking it.
