Thumbs down Return help

Ok so I had my taxes done with a professional but something just doesn't seem right. Anyone willing to help or verify would be great. I'm from Texas single and no dependents. No mortgage (I own). Salary 71,802.83 paid 11,958.00 in taxes through out the year. Property taxes @ 3065.00. School loans interest @300.00. Huge medical expense all out of pocket @17,800. All year long I claim 00. Does a return of 2980.00 sound right?

Although federal income tax rates are fairly straightforward, determining the amount of income that is subject to taxation can be extremely complicated, depending on your individual situation. I can’t give you hard answer due to lack of available info,i.e., number of W/A on your W4; total amount reported on Sch A of 1040 or etc. The fact that federal, state and local taxes are withheld directly from your paychecks tends to make those levies somewhat invisible. How much did your ER withhold for FICA or FIT or retirement plan contributions or etc…
