Is is possible to get unemployment if you are an LLC

Earlier this year I was laid off from my job of 20 years then brought back on contract. I started an LLC so I could contract with them. I think the project will soon be getting cancelled. Is there any way to get unemployment for awhile until I find another job? I didn't think it was possible with an LLC. Can I convert my LLC to an S-Corp and backpay the unemployment taxes so I can get the benefit when my project is cancelled?
