Tax Tips for submitted E-Filed Tax Returns!

1. Taxpayers should check with their respective tax preparers and CPA's to ensure that their tax returns were duly filed and accepted by the Federal and State Tax Authorities.

2. Taxpayers should also check their bank accounts to determine whether or not their electronic tax payments were timely debited by the Federal (IRS) or the State Tax authorities. It is very possible that the State has debited the payment whereas the Federal (IRS) has rejected the E-payment. The reverse is also possible.

The possible causes for the rejections could be the bank account information was not properly input or routing number was wrong.

Taxpayers should follow up immediately after the tax filing to ensure that both 1) and 2) have taken place on timely basis.
