“was wondering if i could claim my child as a dependant if she graduated high school in may of 2011 but turned 19 dec 29 2011.”----->No; to claim someone as a qualifying child, that person must be younger than 19 regrdless of high school graduation; as your child turned 19 on December 19, 2011. Unless she was permanently and totally disabled or a full-time student under age 24, she does not meet the age test because, at the end of the year, she was not under age 19.However, her gross income for 2011 was LESS than $3,650, then you can still claim her on your return as your qualifying relative.
