Foreign Income

Hi , I worked part year in USA and part year in Australia as an employee. I have paid taxes in Australia at source . I have to file taxes in USA , on total USA nd australia income . My question is that while calculating taxes , do i add net income from australia which is Gross income minus taxes or gross income before taxes . If i add gross income from Australia , that means i am paying tax in usa on the taxes i paid in Australia .
