After doing my taxes online on taxslayer.com I was told I would receive approximately $175 from federal and over $500 from state (WI). All I did was enter in my W2 info. I'm single, didn't make any special claims, and made about $20k last year. Could this possibly be correct? I don't understand how I would get so much more from state than federal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could this possibly be correct?”----> I guess it depends it can go either way, depending on where you live, how much you made, and how much was withheld for state and federal. Even though the federal tax is almost always larger than your state tax, the refund depends on how much you had withheld from your paychecks. It is completely possible that you had more state tax withheld in 2010 (but not more Federal tax withheld), so that your state tax refund would be larger.
