Can my wife's boyfriend claim our son on his taxes?

My wife and I have been separated for a few years but we are still legally married in the state of Utah. Is it legal for her boyfriend to claim our son on his taxes? I don't pay child support and our son lives with my wife and her boyfriend during the week and is with me every weekend. She isn't filing any taxes, so I wanted to claim my son on my taxes, but she is arguing and saying that I can't because her boyfriend is claiming him. Is this legal?
