What are the strategies available to avoid to the Wash Sale rules?

If a taxpayer want to risk being out of the position for more than 30 days, consider the taxpayer should consider the following alternatives:

1. Buy securities of another company in the same industry, or

2. Buy shares in a mutual fund that specializes in the same Industry.

3. Double up on the position 30 days before selling at a loss.
