DBA vs LLC

This is my first time asking a question so maybe you can help me!

Im interested in getting my Real estate license and working under a broker to buy and sell homes in California. I sent a name reservation request to the secretary of state to check the name availability for an LLC. The name is available so i sent a form to reserve the name. Now im not sure if I should just get a DBA with the name or start an LLC with the name. I know the DBA would be easier but im concerned about the $800 yearly fee for an LLC just incase business is slow to start. My goal is within the next few years to get my brokers license after i get my real estate license and eventually work on my own.

I am not sure that you are allowed to operate as an LLC working for a CA Realtor!! I would first check with your State Real Estate Licensing Board whether or not you are allowed to operate as an incorporated entity such as an LLC whilst employed as a Realtor for a CA Real Estate Broker. Also, check with the Broker too!
