Why should Taxpayers E-File their Tax Returns in 2009?

Most tax professional now agree that to E-file a tax return is both most convenient and efficient way to file a tax return. Some of the benefits of E-filing a tax return are discussed below.

1. Accuracy
IRS studies show that "e-filing greatly reduces errors on your return and the chances that you will receive a error notice from the IRS. The IRS published studies show the error rate of e-filed returns is reduced to 1%, versus 20% for paper returns.

2. Security
A taxpayers privacy and security are guaranteed. A taxpayer can choose a five-digit PIN as their unique electronic signature.

3. Proof of Acceptance
The IRS will send the taxpayer an electronic acknowledgment within 48 hours that it accepted your return. If the IRS has not accepted a taxpayers tax return, the IRS will send that taxpayer a rejection notice that will show the errors it found on that particular tax return.

4. Fast Refunds
Taxpayers will receive their refunds twice as fast as with a paper return.A taxpayers is still able to file a tax return on paper, but a paper filed tax return will take longer to process and that taxpayer will have to wait longer for any potential tax refund that may be due to that taxpayer.
