Insurance producer moving from CA to TX

I'm fleeing CA to TX. I have a book of business built in CA...and intend to return to CA every year to maintain that book and write more business as a non-resident producer. I'm trying to find out how I will be taxed. Are taxes paid at the rate of whatever state the consumer lives in? Or does the domicile state of the producer make a difference? Wondering if I am stuck paying CA taxes!
