LLC Tax late Filling Penalty

I had filed my 2016 LLC Tax return (form 1065) late on April 16th and got notice from IRS for late fee for 2 months. Is there any way to avoid this penalty?

Hi,
Hopefully by now you filed the tax return with the IRS. Assuming you did, you can file for a first time penalty abatement if in the past 3 years prior to the year in question, you filed on time with no issues. Hopefully this helped!
