claiming commuting expenses on income taxes

if an airline employee was surplussed to another base in another state from where they reside.....can they claim the commuting expenses on income taxes.....I was surplussed from Seattle to San Francisco and have to commute to fly my trips......I fly international routes.......The surpluss allowed me to maintain my income by flying international rathwer than taking a cut of pay and fly domestic in Seattle.....

Thank you for your time......
