What is the foreign income exclusion for 2006 for US taxpayers working aboard?

Dear Taxguru,

My wife (US Citizen) worked in Germany in 2006. What is the foreign income exclusion that I can claim for 2006? Also, can I file jointly with her in 2006?

Tks.

Foreign Earned Income Exclusion for 2006

According to IRS Code section 911(a) (1) and (b)(2),

"A qualifying individual who works abroad may elect to exclude from Gross Income up to $80,000 of foreign income attributable to a period of residence during the tax year in a foreign country."
