Due date for 1096 Annual transmittal along w/ 1099-Misc reports

Remember to have your CPA prepare the 1096 and 1099-Misc reports and mail these to the appropriate IRS filing addresses.

These reports will typically report payments to a non-employee for amounts that are paid in excess of $600 in calendar year 2007.

Be sure to click the link below to determine where to mail these reports.
Where do you file your 1099-Misc reports in 2007?

What is the address of filing the 1099-Misc/1096 Reports for business in NY area?

For my business in NY State, can you please provide me with an address to where I can file these 1096 Annual Transmittal letter along w/ 1099-Misc.

Is there an extension allowed for late filing of these reports? Also, what are the penalties if any for the delay?

Thanks in advance..

New York Address for filing 1099-Misc Reports

Here is where you should be filing your 1099/1096 Misc reports to if you are operating from NY State.

Internal Revenue Service
Austin, TX 73301

If you mail these asap, I do not think that you will be penalized. So, please mail these promptly.
