College Student Deduction-Divorced

It is presumed minor children are allocated to parent with greater custody. Divorced, my ex claimed the minors. Now that one of our children is in college the presumption is the parent who provides the greater of financial support claims the college student. I work at the institution my child attends college. Because of my years of service I qualify for a college tuition grant. I apply for the grant then I am awarded the grant which is applied to my child's bill. It equals about 50% of his college tuition. The remaining amount owed is split 50/50 between me and my ex. Will this tuition grant be counted as financial support that I bring to the table for college tuition support? I feel I am justified to claim the student on the basis that I provide the greater of financial support for his college education. He is out of the house and lives on campus even during the summer months.Thoughts? Thanks !
