dissolve s corp in ny....HELP!!!

Hello!! ok here is my dilema. I had filed my final tax return for my s-corp in 2006. as a background check was being done for new employment i was informed that my corp was still active. the business was not doing any business 2006-present what do i need to do at this point? can i just file for a certificate of dissoultion or do i have to file tax returns for 2007 and a partial for 2008? my accountant failed to inform me that i owed him 50$ from an already paid 2500$ fee he charges and figured our relationship was done for non payment of the 50$. he never informed me that the corp was not dissolved. is this something i can take care of myself? or do i need an accountant. and what needs to be done?? PLEASE HELP!!

ok i just heard back from my accountant and he wants to charge me 750$ for his services to file the 07/08 tax returns. he was very bitter. saying i stiffed him out of 50$, when i didnt even know about it. you would think after doing business with him for 6 years and bringing him atleast 8-10 new clients he would have atleast called me and told me that i owed him 50$.
