I've been divorced since 2012. In Nov 2013, I remarried. I have custody of my kids, my ex only saw them once a week for 2 hours maybe a dozen times since the divorce. He's never paid child support on a regular basis. I don't work and didn't in 2013.

I filed our taxes myself a joint return, my new husband and I, and claimed the kids. Now the IRS says someone else claimed the kids, too.

I hope I didn't screw up because we spent the return already. Who is allowed to claim the kids?

Please help! I'm freaking out. I already had to file bankruptcy because my ex ruined my credit and ran up $100k of credit card debt, I don't need this stress, too! Are we going to have to pay it back?
