Unhappy Form 872 Audits: To Sign or Not To Sign.

Hello Expert,

I got the shock of my life when I received a letter asking me if I am willing to give my consent on my 2011 Tax Returns. Since the statute of limitation for 2011 is almost ending they want me to sign (or not to sign?) Form 872 if I want or not to extend the statute of limitation.

To date, there is no particular item yet that they want to open up.

Is there really a choice for me here?

What happens if I agree?

Conversely, what if I don't agree?

Do I have really have to sign that Form 872.

Man, I am really scared, please help me

Thank you so much for your usual help.
