Work in PA Live in DE or NJ

Hi,

I got a job in Philadelphia PA and looking for apartments. If I take an apartment in Delaware or New Jersey, will there be any complication in filing the tax next year ? Before this job, I was staying in UT for three months in 2014 (From Jan to Mar).

#1;it depends on you your residency.aslongas you area full year resident of NJ , thenas tghere is a reciprocal agreement between PA and NJ, PA will not tax the others’ residents on employee compensation that is subject to employer withholding;you must report your taxable income to NJ not to PA. you must request a refund of the PA income tax withheld by PA(is PA did it) from your compensation.if you are a FY res of DE, then, you need to pay tax to PA and claim tax paid to PA on your DEreturn.

#2;aslongas you were a fy res of UT then you must file your 2014 return as part year resident of UT and part year res of either DE or NJ; youmust report only UT income to UT and NJ income tyo NJ or only DE income to DE. You do not need to report your UT income to DE or NJ and vice versa.
