Travel expenses

Hi

I live in MA and I work in CT where I have a 1 year appointment at Yale. I have been travelling to CT once per week and I stay there to sleep one or 2 nights per week in an hotel.
I would like to know if I can deduct these travel expenses.
I think the answer is no because my tax residency is where I do business so CT. However, I have been told that 1 year appointment is considered temporary and so I can deduct the travel expenses. Any idea anyone?
