Extension, can I file one?

I am currently going through a divorce. We are still waiting on the court to decide who will be claiming our child for which years (odd/even). I was advised that the court is allowed 90 days to make a decision, and to expect the court to take exactly that many days to decide. This will put me past the April 15th deadline. I went a head and worked my estimated taxes for either case, claiming a dependent or not, in either case I will NOT owe money. Can I still file an extension? I got the impression from the Application for Automatic Extension of Time.... that this if for people who owe taxes.
