Online Business Seller Need Tax Return Help for 2009

In the year 2009 i sold alot of stuff on amazon ranking in thousands with a friend. Amazon made disbursements to my bank account which i then transfer over to paypal account that we both shared so we can buy inventory, supplies and transfer money back to our bank accounts as like a payment to ourselves. My friend told me recently filed his taxes and said he owe money, which is fair. However, the problem i am having is understanding the requirements because whenever i talked to a tax consultant i am always told that we should of filed a partnership return and then both individual returns. Can anyone clue me on what i do to file taxes since i never filed for the tax year 2009? I already have my bank statements, deposit amounts from amazon but im cluess on what to do with expenses, etc and paypal
