Eftps federal tax deposit

Michelle Crane

Good evening,
I'm fairly a new bookkeeper. I was hired with very little experience but have a degree in Finance. I pretty much had to hit the ground running. Today I was doing payroll and accidentally put the date 30th(Saturday) instead of the 29th (today;Friday). I notified my boss (small non profit organization) and he just said don't worry about it. Checks will be distributed Monday. Another mistake I made, was when I deposited payroll Tax on EFTPS, I set Date once again, to 30th(Sat.) instead of today. I. Home now and so stressed. Will this affect end of year reports, audits, etc? Someone please respond.

No big deal; Once your tax payment is accepted, EFTPS will initiate a debit against your bank account on the date you indicated, and your records will be automatically updated with the IRS. You can also cancel or alter scheduled payments up to two days before the date of a scheduled transfer
