What States are offering Tax Amnesties to delinquent taxpayers?

During the Tax Year 2009, seven state tax departments have held or will offer tax amnesties to its taxpayers, these are listed below as follows;

1. Alabama,

2. Arizona,

3. Connecticut,

4. Massachusetts,

5. New Jersey,

6. Virginia,

7. Wisconsin.

The purpose of a tax amnesty program is for the state to "collect as much back taxes" as they can so as to balance their budgets as quickly as possible in a very short time period. Taxpayers are urged to comply with the terms of the amnesty program as the State will waive the substantial penalties associated with the delinquent tax liabilities.
