What are the 2008 Alternative Minimum Tax Exemptions?

It seems that Congress is making a serious attempt to stop the AMT tax from hitting more and more middle class taxpayers. For the tax year 2008, the AMT exemptions have been raised to $69,950 for married couples filing jointly and $46,200 for Single filing taxpayers.

Clearly, this may not be sufficient for most middleclass taxpayers, but at least this is a step in the right direction in helping the middle class taxpayers who were facing the wrath of the potential AMT taxes hitting them in the 2008 tax year.
