1099 MISC box 6

I am a health care professional, sole proprietor, and get reimbursed directly from health care companies. I received my 1099-msc with the amount paid listed in box 6. Why is my tax due so much higher when placed in box 6 instead of box 7(non employee compensation). since i also do contract work some of my 1099-misc are in box 7. when i enter all my earnings in box 7 instead of box 6 my taxes decrease tremendously. I am wondering why and is there a loophole, like forming an LLC to help with this for 2015?
