Moving to NJ but will still be working in NYC Next week I am moving to an apartment in Jersey City (NJ) from NYC but I will still be working full time in NYC. I have only been living in the US for a few years (sorry if I appear to be clueless..) Just have a few general questions..
I understand that I have to fill out a NJ-W4. Are there any other forms that I need to complete at this time?
When it comes to filing my taxes for this year:
Will I be classed as an NYC resident for all of 2008 as I will have lived there for the majority of the year? or classed as both?
Will I receive two W-2's at the end of the year?
Do I have to file both NY & NJ taxes at year end?
Any other additional information with regards to this situation would be more than appreciated.
Thanks in advance |
