What is an “Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA”)?

This new designation, “Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent” or “ERPA” is an individual who has been approved by the IRS to practice before the IRS on certain retirement plan issues.

The rules governing ERPAs are set forth in Circular 230.
